Coffee, cake and Cannock Chase with Nathan Deen

Great fun catching up with none other than Nathan Deen, Associate Land Director at Countryside, in the exquisite setting of Cannock Chase Country Park. 🏞

Despite chilly conditions we were blessed with an azure blue sky which wouldn't have been out of place in the Med! πŸ˜Žβ›±

Having shaken off Covid over the festive period, we tested ourselves with some cross country trails and varying levels of inclines before the easy part; coffee, cake and a chinwag. β˜•πŸ°

Our shared passion is travel; and what better way to blow away the winter blues than reminisce about journeys past and travel plans for the future. Between us we've covered some ground; the Pacific Northwest, Southern Africa, South East Asia, and many wonderful places in between. We are definitely in agreement though that it's often the people you meet, as opposed to the sites you see, that truly make a travel experience.

In many ways the same is true of work. Careers are shaped by ourselves, we're the ones in control of our own destiny but we mustn't underestimate the role(s) of those around us; mentors, colleagues, 'competitors'.

As Nathan starts his new role alongside Phil McHugh we wish him well and we're sure that he'll forge many strong, long-lasting relationships as his career continues to flourish.
